Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Inc is the US healthcare affiliate of Novo Nordisk A/S, the world's largest producer of pharmaceuticals for endocrine disorders. With headquarters in Princeton, NJ and an insulin plant under validation in Clayton, NC, the affiliate has direct responsibility for Novo Nordisk's Health Care Business in the US. Together with Novo Nordisk's Health Care Research Unit, ZymoGenetics Inc in Seattle WA, Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals Inc constitutes the corporation's health care presence in the US. A drug manufacturer is a business entity engaged in making, assembling, processing or modifying devices, or mixing, producing or preparing drugs in dosage forms by encapsulating, entableting or other process, or packaging, repackaging or otherwise changing the container, wrapper or label of any package containing a drug or device in furtherance of the distribution of the drug or device from the original place of manufacture to the person who makes final delivery or sale to the ultimate consumer. A manufacturer license may not be transferred from one establishment to another or from one person to another. Each establishment requires a separate license. Novo will continue to acquire new products for commercialization. Several promising, novel candidates have been identified and the company is progressing toward such acquisitions. The objective of the company is to develop late stage, patented drugs intended for specialty or niche markets. The intent is to self fund the development of these products from revenues generated by product sales.
Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals is focused on establishing itself as a high profile, quality provider of unique, niche pharmaceuticals in four therapeutic areas neonatology, oncology, endocrinology and cardiology.
