TAP began in 1977 as a joint venture between two global pharmaceutical leaders, Abbott and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited. Today, TAP is one of the nation's leading pharmaceutical companies and the marketer of Prevacid lansoprazole and Lupron Depot leuprolide acetate for depot suspension, both leaders in their classes.

Lupron Depot is indicated for the palliative treatment of advanced prostate cancer, for management of endometriosis, in combination with iron for the preoperative treatment of anemia caused by uterine fibroids, and for the treatment of children with central precocious puberty.
The indications for Prevacid include: the short-term treatment of heartburn and other symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease the GERD, the short-term up to eight weeks healing, symptom relief and maintenance of healed erosive esophagitis, a condition in which the lining of the esophagus has been damaged.
