Abbott Laboratories was founded in 1888 when Dr. Wallace C. Abbott started manufacturing dosimetric granules. He was a pioneer in the pharmaceutical medicine. In 1900, it was officially registered as Abbott Alkaloidal Company; however, in 1915 the company changed its name to Abbott Laboratories.
