Keeping in line with FLAVORx's mission statement of helping those in need, the company has exceeded its expectations at raising money for The Children's Inn at NIH through a Halloween charity event.

Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) November 2, 2005 -- Yesterday afternoon FLAVORx employees and residents at The Children’s Inn at NIH gathered together for a day of Halloween bowling. From employee, company and local business contributions, “STRIKE a Pin and Help Kids Win!” generated funds exceeding 125 % of FLAVORx’s monetary goal. In addition, toys and stuffed animals were donated to The Children’s Inn to extend the holiday’s spooky spirit to children who were unable to attend. With over 90 % of FLAVORx employees participating, the afternoon was filled with excitement, energy, laughter, and of course, creative costumes.

The Children’s Inn is a 24-hour, 7-day a week residence that is open to pediatric patients and their families who have traveled from around the world to NIH to receive treatment for serious medical conditions such as cancer, heart, lung, blood, bone and growth disorders, mental illnesses, and HIV infection. The presence of family members in the nurturing and comforting environment of The Children’s Inn provides the emotional support needed to make a difference in the lives and well-being of these children. The mutual support among children and families allows kids to maintain a familiar routine and have a sense of normalcy while facing their illnesses. In the past 15 years, this private, non-profit organization has supported nearly 6,600 children and their families have made over 40,000 visits to The Inn.

This is not the first time FLAVORx has contributed significantly to a local organization. In fact, FLAVORx’s core value of generosity has led the company to give service and charity to regional and global organizations since its inception. Over the past year alone, FLAVORx has provided service to the troops in Iraq through remedying unpalatable water and the victims of Hurricane Katrina by sending products, kits, and supplies free of charge, in addition to fundraising contributions for Hadley's Parks a non profit organization that builds playgrounds where disabled children can safely play with able bodied children.

Based in Bethesda, FLAVORx sets the industry standard for the flavoring of pharmaceutical drugs that intrinsically taste bad. Offering over 42 delicious flavors, FLAVORx increases enjoyment and compliance in taking vital medications.
