Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine): Relieving Your Muscular Pain
Flexeril, the brand name used to Cyclobenzaprine, is a medicament used to relax and relieve the pain of some muscles caused by sprains, strains and spinal damages. Nevertheless, this medication is not part of the exercise, physical therapy or any other treatment that your physician suggests to solve your problem. This medicine works on the central nervous system producing a relaxing effect on the injured muscles. As other medications, Flexeril can be used in other treatments, but you must ask your doctor before.
This drug (as others) is available just with prescription of a doctor, and it is presented in tablets. The dose is different and varies according to the ages of the people. The dose for adults is normally of 10 mg three times per day, and the dose for children is regularly established by the doctors. In case you forget a dose, skip it and continue with the normal schedule.
If you have to take Flexeril and you have allergic reactions to it, contact your doctor. He or she must also know whether you are pregnant or planning to, or if you are currently breast feeding. In fact, it is always important to discuss with your doctor before starting with a new medicament.
As many other drugs, Flexeril could present some side effects. Some of them are dizziness, buzzing in the ears, headache, diarrhea, nervousness and others. If you face one or several of these problems while taking Flexeril, contact your doctor and ask him/her about it. If you have any other doubt about this medication contacts your doctor or physician.
